Re: how work Scottmeier Edelstalkrümmer fit with stock auspuff info???
With Albert S' stainless headers mounted with stock muffler and the lean carb setting on my Californian GB500, I found the sound not much louder, but with a higher, "ringing" note (more treble) like from a smaller engine. The engine maybe revved better above 5kRPM, but also vibrated more in that range, and it definitely had less torque in the 2000;-3500 rpm range. Mind you, Albert developed these headers for tuned and 650cc engines not specifically for the stock 500cc.
In any case, all those points improved when I fitted the original header. However, perception of sound is a very personal matter, and actually the good Armin in Hessen sowmewhere, who bought my Schottmeier headers, thought his GB500 got a better sound with a deeper note...
If only you could read german, you would find more opinions about this subject expressed in old messages in here.
Bluurp, bluurp

Richard is a diplomat. Don't use it with a short stroke RFVC. This is what all the German discussons is about. With the 80mm stroke engines it might be working well.
